The AlfredoM Graphic Arts Studio’s Illuminated Manuscripts Project is committed to hand-drawn re-creations, in electronic vector format, of masterpieces of illumination and illustration art. Our Collections of exquisite manuscript and book art in electronic vector format has range from early Celtic Art, the Middle Age and Renaissance, to the Victorian Era’s Arts and Crafts Movement, the early 20th century’s Liberty and the Art Deco styles.
Alfredo Malchiodi Albedi employs his extensive knowledge of art and architectural history to select the most beautiful historical images to re-create with a precise hand, evolved over many years of art training. These digital hand creations require many hours and often many days to complete with an unsurpassed, fine detail that has made Alfredo's work a favourite with design professionals, publishers, museum directors, architects, and art teachers around the world.

The meticulous care given to logical groupings of elements within each vector-based graphic makes them infinitely useful as their modifiability is only limited by the imagination of the user. This combination of artistic sensibility with logic and mathematical precision has earned Alfredo the highest accolades from clients.

Though born and raised in Rome , Italy , Alfredo Malchiodi Albedi has called Venezuela, Canada and the USA home. Today, he lives in Northern California.
With the support of a father who was in the cinematic arts, Alfredo early chose a career in the arts. He attended art schools from his early teens through university. He graduated from Rome 's fine art academy in 1967. During his tenure there, he also served as one of the youngest ever student teachers for student's at Rome 's Architectural University . Formal art training was rigorous and included advanced mathematics as well as drawing, painting, and various crafts that include everything from mosaic tiling to embroidery. Alfredo's professional career in arts includes mastery of stained glass, fine woodwork & woodcarving, practical architectural design, and photography. While seeking a new direction for his talents and after attending an Apple Exposition in 2000, Alfredo realized that the best digital art work available to the public at that time failed to capture the cultural and historical essence of fine art. This failing he was confident he could redress and, thereby, fill a much needed void in the world of digital illustration.
Within 2 months, Alfredo mastered the use of Adobe Illustrator, the premier choice of software applications for illustrators and desktop publishers. After producing his first CD collection of Renaissance illuminated manuscript art, he mastered the art of website design and various coding forms to self-produce and manage his own store. Each one of the over-forty art collections produced over the past fourteen years has been a result of total immersion into the historical and cultural period of that art. This has resulted in a portfolio of incredible integrity -- a summa cum laude, tour de force of digital art work which includes the monumental task of redrawing the complete Grammar of Ornament by Owen Jones. All his digital work is available online as instant download. |
